SCIF Cleanroom Acknowledgment Policy
Purpose
This policy outlines expectations for acknowledging the SCIF Cleanroom Facility and its staff in scholarly and research outputs. Proper acknowledgment supports facility sustainability, resource expansion, and recognition of contributions.
1. Acknowledgment Requirement
Users are expected to acknowledge the SCIF Cleanroom Facility in all publications, presentations, posters, and other scholarly outputs that utilize SCIF instruments, services, and/or expertise.
Acknowledgment of facility personnel is at the discretion of the user and should follow standard academic practices.
2. Reporting Publications

Users must share a copy of any resulting publication with the facility.

The facility maintains records of all publications supported by SCIF resources. This information is essential for reporting, funding justification, and expansion of facility capabilities.
3. Recognition of Staff Contributions

If SCIF staff contribute beyond standard training and routine technical guidance, their involvement will be considered a collaborative effort.
In such cases, appropriate recognition, including authorship where applicable, is expected and should be discussed and agreed upon in advance, following standard academic practices.
4. Example Acknowledgment Language
Users may use or adapt the following example as appropriate:

“We acknowledge the Stem Cell Instrumentation Foundry Cleanroom for assistance in fabricating devices and/or generating data.”
5. General Statement
Your success is our success. Proper acknowledgment of SCIF Cleanroom resources and staff contributions helps strengthen the facility and supports continued growth and service to the research community.
